Christmas at the Capitol

Satuday, December 18th, 2010

I can honestly say besides the day Kinsey was born, this has been the most stressful day of my life! Long story short, it is no longer safe for the three of us to continue to live where we are living, so for Christmas we are moving in with mom and dad for awhile until we can find a new house, stressful needless to say but I am so glad I have my parents! Something fun we did do tonight, me and mom took Kinsey to the Capitol to take some pictures for Christmas, (I decided to wait on Santa and maybe try next year) it was not nearly decorated the way it usually is for Christmas and the tree that is usually down in the rotunda was upstairs, it was not as big as previous years, not to mention it was poorly decorated, looked like it was dying for water and about to catch on fire, and did not have ONE single light on it, needless to say; very dissapointed. But we got a few pictures, and we are going to go into Benton where the Courthouse is all lit up and they have all the animation sets up, maybe we will get some more good pictures before Christmas.

This poor tree looked like it was about to catch fire from being so thirsty

  1. Amanda,
I'm so sorry to hear that you've had to move back in with your parents for the holidays! I hope you find some place soon and it's such a blessing that you have family near by that you can count on! I'm also sorry that your trip to the capitol was dissapointing! I've never been, so I don't know how it usually is, but it seems like the capitol building would have plenty of beautiful decorations!
Kinsey is such a cutie-pie! I can't believe she's already 5 months old! What are you going to start her on first? It's so much fun watching them learn how to eat!
Hoping you and your family have a wonderful and SAFE christmas!

  2. It'll be ok, but I am very thankful we found out this way rather than the hard way by our house buring down or something happening to us or Kinsey, my parents are loving Kinsey being there she is going to be so spoiled by the time we leave! I can't believe she is 5 months old either, I think we are going to try cereal first that is what they recommend, so we'll see if she likes it I think she will she has started grabbing for food on our plates and she watches us while we eat as if to say "Hey I want some mommy!" So I think we're ready! You guys have a wonderful Christmas also, hope Charlotte gets lots of goodies from Santa!
